RENO, NV (Mar. 26) — Here we are at the end of March, while motorcycle events are going on next month the oval track season in our area begins. A sure sign of spring even though an incoming storm has changed the location for a race.
CAR MEETS:

• The Iron Mafic starts the weekend with the usual 8 a.m. meet. Location is Kim’s Donut & Tea House ar 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.

• As this is the fifth weekend of the month the Cars & Coffee groups are off. But there is a huge event at the Convention Center starting Thursday with the Reno Boat Show. Then Friday through Sunday the Reno RV Show and Off-Road Motorsports Expo gets going.
RACING (4-Wheel):

• Friday and Saturday is when Rattlesnake Raceway has its annual clean up. Weather permitting of course.

• Last weekend before Need 2 Speed moves it’s indoor Kart track. In April they’ll relocate to the Northtowne Marketplace.
PRACTICE & RACING (Motocross):

• Big news is that round 2 of the Battleborn MX series has moved and now will be out at the Fernley Sandbox MX. Saturday is for practice while Sunday is race day.
- REP Racing MX, if the weather holds will have practice at two of its tracks in California. Riverfront has night practice from 5 until 10 Thursday then on Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. open practice.

• Remember if you are registered and planning on racing in this year’s Virginia City Grand Prix the Pre-Race Drawing party is this Saturday. Should be a fun and wild night at the Red Dog Saloon.
• E Street is planning practice on it front and back tracks from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
• MMX Racing is planning practice from 9 until 2 Saturday on the Main, Sand and Kid’s tracks. Sunday’s practice is 9 until 3 p.m. with the Vintage track added to the mix.
RACING (NATIONAL):

• This weekend NASCAR moves to Martinsville Speedway, also known as the Paper Clip. Once again all the events are behind a pay wall. Remember all times listed are Eastern.
• Thursday and Friday are empty but Saturday, at 12:55 Fox Sports 2 has the Moto GP Sprint Races from COTA, which is outside of Austin, Texas.

• Peacock, starting at 11:30 has Race Day Live. Then at 5 p.m. the Network broadcasts Round 11 of this year’s AMA Supercross series.
• Saturday at 5 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NHRA Qualifying Show #1 from Pomona.
• Sunday starts at 9 a.m. when Fox Sports 1 has NHRA Qualifying Show #2.
• At 11:30 a.m. Fox Business News airs the Moto SP race from COTA.
• The weekend ends at 3:30 p.m. when Fox Sports 1 has the NHRA Winter Nationals from Pomona Dragway. That track is kind of NHRA’s Spiritual Home.
