    RENO, NV (Jan. 29) — Well here we are, it’s Chinese New Year, and racing returns to our area for this weekend. Not to mention car meets and a special NASCAR race on TV. CAR MEETS: PLEASE NOTE THESE MEETS WILL DEPEND ON HOW MUCH WEATHER WE’LL BE GETTING. • Iron Mafia starts the weekend at 8 a.m. Thursday. Location is Kim’s Donuts and Tea Shop at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville. • Sunday has two meets not far from each other.     RENO, NV (Sun. 19) — Despite the cold morning the turn out was great At these meets there is something for almost everyone, including the kids. Different eras are also represented as well. Here is wonderful restoration of a 1941 Chevy Pick up parked behind a newer Corvette. Not far away this Blue Honda was showing the motor its owner spruced up. Then there was the BMW parked by a Porsche with a vintage El Camino at the end of the row. At Cars & Coffee meets variety in all around you. There was also the beautiful Honda Acura NSX.

    RENO, NV (Jan. 11) — Saturday the Northern Nevada Kart Club held its annual awards banquet. The site was the clubhouse at Arrowhead Golf Course. There were tables full of raffle prizes but the one many came to see and share was the table full of trophies.     RENO, NV (Jan 2) — The High Desert Hustle 2025 visited the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events center this week. They ended 2024 and started 2025 with a bang, a road and some action packed short track racing.
