RENO, NV (Dec. 25) — Merry Christmas to all our readers. Hope it was a great day for you. This week we have racing in our area plus other things.
Since we’re still in the Re-Run zone and it’s the fifth weekend of the month things are a bit scrambled until we get into the New Year. As a result these reports will be a bit different.
CAR MEETS:
• The Thursday meet for the Iron Mafia has been moved to Friday. Starting time is 8 a.m. and the location is Kim’s Donut and Tea House located at 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville.
- Other than that I’ve not found any announcements for the Cars & Coffee groups. Next weekend however, as 2025 begins, things get back to normal.
RACING (4-WHEEL):
• The year ends with the High Desert Hustle 2025 at the Reno/Sparks Livestock Events Center. Four days of Outlaw Kart racing inside the building.
The Wednesday show, New Year’s Eve, ends with the concert and Thursday is when the finals are run. One driver in the A class will win $10,000 dollars.
I’m attaching the week’s schedule. Other than Sunday, when sign ups are happening, the program begins at 1:15 in the afternoon.
I’m also attaching the map showing how to enter the parking area and where to go. Good luck everyone.
PRACTICE & RACING (MOTOCROSS):
• Once again, due to the rain, both Riverfront MX and Prairie City MX are closed. However the Sandbox MX track in Fernley, just west of the Veteran’s Cemetery, has practice from 10 until 3 p.m. Sunday.
• This weekend’s schedule for the 2025 Triple Crown at MMX Racing has been revised due to the amount of rain they’ve received.
In the updated schedule the race has been moved to January 11-12 in the New Year.
• E Street had not posted their schedule when this article was posted. Best bet is to check with them on either Face Book or Instagram.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):
• Saturday the Kubota High Limit sprint car series is at the Perth Motorplex in Australia. It will be streamed on www.floracing,com and should be a good show. Check with the network for the time.
• On Tuesday, New Year’s Eve, the Tulsa Shootout for Micro Sprints starts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event runs until Saturday, January 4th and is a prelude to the Chili Bowl Nationals as they use the same track.
• On January 2, www.mavtv.com will show the Dakar Rally Preview. The event begins on Friday, January 3 and is held in Saudi Arabia.
• The Internet sites are full of reruns although www.mavtv.com and www.floracing.com will have live events. Others to check are, www.speedsport.tv, www.fanschoice.tv, www.dirtvision.com and of course www.youtube.com.
That’s it for this weekend. Now we’re counting the days until more racing begins.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas or Hanukkah. Be safe out there and see you next week.
