RENO, NV (Jan. 18) — Looks like we’ll have good weather for this weekend. So there is a car meet plus racing on the Internet and TV. Spring is getting closer, which means more racing is coming.
CAR MEETS:
• Since it’s the 4th Sunday of the month, Sparks Cars & Coffee is having a meet. Starts at 10 a.m. by the Starbucks located off Disc Drive. Considering how cold it’s been hot chocolate is close by.
RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):
• Due to the snow the motocross track at Fernley NinetyfiveA Motor Sports Complex is closed this weekend.
• After the first round was canceled last weekend this week’s Frigid 7 P.R.O Motocross series is at the Argyll track on Sunday. This will be the first race in the 2023 season so adjust the schedule.
• E Street MX Park has a different schedule this week due to the expected rain. They’ll have practice, on the front and back courses, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
• Prairie City MX has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on the front and back tracks.
• Riverfront MX has practice from 5 until 10 p.m. Thursday, but that probably depends on the weather. Then on Sunday practice is from 9 until 2 p.m.
RACING (NATIONAL):
• On Friday at 5:30 p.m. www.mavtv.com airs the next AMA Arenacross event from Guthrie. This is probably a smaller track then they have here in Reno.
• Saturday begins at 11:05 on www.imsa.tv when they show the first VP Racing Sports Car Challenge from the road course at Daytona International Speedway.
• Peacock is carrying this Saturday’s round of the AMA Supercross season. This week its in San Diego, Race Day Live starts at 1:30 p.m. while the racing begins at 7 p.m.
• Sunday starts at 9:20 a.m. when imca.tv carries the second VP Racing Sportscar Challenge. Then at 10:20 a.m. the network airs the IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car – Rolex 24 qualifying.
That’s it for this week. Be safe and warm everyone as the next few days promise to be a bit on the cold side. Take care and I’ll see you next weekend. And Remember.
