RACING PREVIEW: OCTOBER 27 TO 31

RENO, NV (Oct. 26) — Much going on this weekend, especially with Halloween on Monday. There is also a bunch more racing as well including the last oval track event in our region. But first something special.

DEDICATION: I’m starting this off with a dedication. Over the past few years Summit Racing Parts has published a great schedule showing cruises and other things. It came from the efforts of Judy Oppio, who created the calendar for the classic car community.

Sadly she has passed but Summit created this year’s calendar in her honor. So we here at Nevada Racing News dedicate this edition to her memory and hope Summit will continue to create this great calendar.

• Due to a scheduling conflict Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon is allowing the crew from Diamond Mountain Speedway to have their Halloween races in Fallon this weekend. Friday’s racing begins at 6 p.m. and all the classes are welcome.

Saturday’s action gets rolling at 4 p.m. but the schedule is a bit different. Any driver wanted to be in the pill draw has to bring two bags of candy. Right after the hot laps there will be a Trick or Treat session on the infield.

Many times the kids are in costumes and areas are set up according to age groups. Once that is over and the track cleared it will be time for heat races followed by the main events. As it’s the final oval track race in our region the night should be full of good, hard racing.

This weekend MRANN is out at Elko for the Halloween Scare Scrambles.

• The next round of the MRANN series is this weekend as the Gold Diggers and Corey Herring Motorcycle Clubs combine forces to bring the Halloween Scare Scramble. This year it’s to the east outside of Elko, Nevada.
