    RENO, NV (June 29) — As we exit June the upcoming holiday weekend is another buffet overflowing with events and car meets. Should be great weather as well.  CAR MEETS: • The weekend gets rolling Thursday when the Carson City Thursday Night Cruisers host their next event. Times are 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. and meeting place is at the Empire Ranch Golf Course.  • Friday Summit Racing Equipment, at 960 East Glendale in Sparks has another cruise in.     SPARKS, NV (June 26) — Double-header this weekend as one group prepares for a big race in July. The other ended June with its second meet of the month.  Sparks Cars & Coffee now meets by the Starbucks located on Disc drive. That’s off the Pyramid Highway where the shopping centers are over the hill. For a warm summer day it was a pretty good turn out with many types of cars.   • FATHER’S DAY CAR SHOWS

    RENO, NV (June 19) — One regular meet and one for Father’s Day highlighted this Sunday. Nice weather set the stage for a wide collection of cars, trucks and some motorcycles.  Things got rolling with Reno Cars & Coffee at the Human Bean Coffee Stand close to the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lane.. While there weren’t as many cars as usual, probably due to it being Father’s Day, there was still a varied selection of cars.  One combination was a 427 Cobra that was licensed built by Shelby parked next to a 1950’s ear pickup.  Another car had interesting

    RENO, NV (June 17) — This will be a short one due to me being in hospital for a couple of days. Didn’t get home until this afternoon but wanted to get something out for those wanting to know what is happening.  CAR MEETS: • This Saturday is the annual Women with Wheels Car Show in Virginia City. It’s by the Silverland Hotel & Suites and usually has a great variety of cars. Hours for the show are 9 until 3 p.m.  • Koyote Kruisers Car Show is Saturday, from 8 until 4 p.m. at Vesco Park in Winnemucca.  •

  • NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB: A BREEZY RACE DAY

    STEAD, NV (June 12) — The Northern Nevada Kart Club held the fourth round of its season at their track, Desert Park Raceway. To say it was breezy would be an understatement as many times the “breeze,” seemed more like a gale. Because of this the barriers on the front stretch were tied to the fence with wire. However one section wasn’t and had to be strapped so it would not be blown onto the front stretch. Some thing this reporter has never seen in all the years I’ve reported these races.     RENO, NV (June 5) — Even though clouds and a few sprinkles were around there were two car meets in Reno on this day. One of them was a benefit while Reno Cars & Coffee had its first weekend of the month meet.  The Cars & Coffee meet was by the Keitzke Starbucks and as usual had a pretty good mix of cars.
