SPARKS, NV (Feb 28) —Sparks Cars & Coffee ended February with its second meet of the month. While there wasn’t a massive turn out it wasn’t too bad and the weather cooperated as well. As usual the Corvette crowd was in attendance. One duo was a great looking Ducati motorcycle parked next to an immaculate black Corvette. Sitting not far away was a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner owned by Paul Petersen. He’s new to the area after he and his wife moved here from Oregon. RENO, NV (Feb. 26) — Well February is almost over with and racing is rolling both in our region as well as nationally. A sure sign spring isn’t far away. CAR MEETS: • There will be a pair of them on Sunday. First is Sparks Cars & Coffee, which begins at 10 a.m. by Buffalo Wild Wings. LOST LLAMA OPENS MRANN’S SEASON
NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 20) – The Trail Blazers Motorcycle Club opened MRANN”s 2022 season with the Return of the Lost Llama event, two days of racing on the desert. Pretty good weather set the stage for two days of hard racing. The Big Bike event on Sunday marked the return of a veteran. After winning the race Dallas Serpa was asked by the announcer, Tina Honea, how long it had been since he raced with MRANN. “It’s got to be at least a year and it’s been a while since I done the whole series,” he said. RENO, NV (Feb. 17) — Now that the Super Bowl is over racing is really taking off. This weekend even has a traditional event that starts racing in Northern Nevada. ARENACROSS VISITS RENO
RENO, NV (Feb. 5) — The Kicker AMA Arenacross series set up camp for a two-day show at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center this weekend. The result was two days that were a blizzard of heats, some LCQ’s and mains. Before every program began a JROTC group from a local high school presented the colors.
