RENO, NV (Sept. 29) — First weekend of fall and things are bit slow as we move away from summer. The Indy Car series is over, both NASCAR and NHRA are heading toward the championship rounds of their respective seasons. MRANN: CRAZY 8 HUSTLE STARTS FALL SEASON.
YERINGTON, NV (Sept. 26) — The Mason Valley Dirt Squirts got MRANN’s fall season rolling this weekend. For the first time in eight years they returned to a location east of town on a dry but somewhat windy day. As usual the riders lined up in Expert, Amateur and Novice rows with each using a dead engine start. RENO, NV (Sept. 22) — Autumn has begun and that means local racing is winding down, except for motorcycles, and professional series are heading toward their championships. Also car meets and cruises are mostly on the weekends now. CAR & MOTORCYCLE MEETS: • Biggest event of the weekend is Street Vibrations – Fall Rally, it turns this area into Sturgis West. TOP GUN DRAGSTRIP ENDS 2021 SEASON
FALLON, NV (Sept. 19) — Top Gun Dragstrip ended the 2021 season this weekend with a three-day show. It started with $5 Dollar Friday where spectators get in for just five dollars but if they want to race fifteen dollars more lets them make runs down the track. All weekend was the annual MOPAR vs the World competition as well as the Top Gunner Shoot on Saturday. On Sunday the King of the Track finals ended the season. LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY: SEPTEMBER SHOWDOWN & REMEMBERING 911
LOVELOCK, NV (Sept. 11) — Lovelock Speedway Silver State Racing has its third two-day show this weekend. It was also a special race as it was held on the 20th anniversary of 911; terrorist attack on America. Saturday’s event was called September Showdown, Remembering 911. To commemorate the event track announcer Davey Munoz, with the promoter’s blessings, had first responders at the track with their unit trucks. DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC ENDS SEASON
STEAD, NV (Sept. 5) — The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) ended it 2021 season this Sunday. They made up a round heavy smoke canceled earlier and for many it was the championship round. Starting the program was the Kid Kart Class, only three were on hand this time. Two of them had problems with Turn 5 but thanks to a pair of fathers both drivers were able to continue. Cash Prater was the first to reach the finish as he had a fast, consistent run. At 7-years-old he’s going to move up to Junior 1 next season. Hunter Nelson

FLAT TRACK RACING AT CARSON CITY
CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 28) — The fifth annual Outlaw Flat Track races returned for a two-day show this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday were a blizzard of heats and main events inside the rodeo arena at Fuji Park. Both evenings began with an honor guard from the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare center presenting the colors. After prayers and the national anthem there was a period of silence to remember the Marines and Navy Corpsman lost this week. After that it was time for racing.
