RACING PREVIEW: JULY 15 TO 18

RENO, NV (July 14) — Another summer weekend ahead of us and another banquet of car meets, cruises and racing. Once again there is something for about anyone.

CAR MEETS & CRUISES:

• This week’s Thursday cruise in Carson City, from 5 until 7:30 p.m. will meet at the Hampton Inn & Suites at 10 Hospitality Way and North Carson.

Summit Racing Equipment in Sparks only has two more of its Friday night cruise ins left.

• Friday beginning around 5 p.m. there is another cruise in at Summit Racing Equipment located at 960 East Glendale Ave., in Sparks. They only have one more scheduled after this weekend.

Another Fernley Main Street Cruise happens Friday evening.

• On Friday, from 6 until 9 p.m. there is another Fernley Main Street Cruise and the meeting place is the Wigwam. Great place to either cruise or bring a chair and watch the cars go by.

Like BBQ and cars well then Saturday’s 3rd annual BBQ hosted by the Unique Car Club is the place to be.

• Saturday from 1 until 5 p.m. is when the Uniques Car Club has their 3rd Anniversary BBQ at Mills Park in Carson City.

The Munoz family is hosting a cruise to remember Pancho’s father.

Closer to Reno that evening the Munoz Family is hosting a cruise to remember Pancho’s father, who passed away. The cruise begins at 8:30 p.m. and everyone needs to meet at the Raley’s across from Mira Loma Park.

• Sunday starting at 10 a.m. is when Reno Cars & Coffee has its next meet. Location is the Human Bean by the corner of Keitzke and Moana, very close to the freeway.

A new car meet is the 1st annual Genoa Customs & Classics show.

Further south is the 1st Annual Genoa Customs & Classic Car show, from 10 until 4 p.m. at this historic town.

Bonanza Casino is the site of the AG Exotic Car Show on Sunday.

For you exotic car fans the Bonanza at 4729 North Virginia Street in Reno, from 10 until1 p.m. has the AG Exotic Card Show.

RACING (REGIONAL):

Battle Mountain Raceway Schedule.

• Battle Mountain Raceway has racing this weekend. It’s a Friday-Saturday show that starts at 7 p.m. and features all the classes.

• Down in East Quincy, starting at 6 p.m. American Valley Speedway has another of its regular shows. Always a great time as the track is nestled in the trees down there.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTOCROSS):

Schedule for the 2021 Summer Sundayz MX series.

• MMX in Marysville host the final round of this year’s 2021 Summer Sunday’s series. Gates open at 6:30 a.m., practice begins at 8 a.m. with racing to follow.

There should also be regular practice sessions from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and from 9 until 3 p.m. Sunday on the other tracks.

• REP Racing is also busy this weekend. For online registration pleas to go, www.repracingmx.com.

+ Riverfront MX has practice from 5 until 10 p.m. Thursday. Then from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

+ Prairie City has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Thursday. This weekend the track hosts the final spring race for the Battle Born MX series.

+ On Saturday gates open at 7 a.m. then from 9 until 2 p.m. there is practice. Sunday gates open at 6:30 a.m., practice starts at 8 a.m. with racing to follow.

RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):

• Thursday begins at 10 a.m. when ESPN 3 airs Formula 1 Weekend Preview. This week the series returns to the classic Silverstone Circuit. Then at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub.

• Friday begins at 3:30 a.m. then ESPN 2 has Formula 2 practice then at 6:35 a.m. ESPN U has Formula 1 practice. At 8:50 a.m. ESPN 3 has Formula 2 qualifying followed on ESPN 2 at 9:55 a.m. with Formula 1 qualifying.

• Saturday is a very busy day starting at 12:50 a.m. when ESPN 3 has the first Formula 2 race followed at 3:55 a.m. when ESPN airs Formula 1 practice. At 6:45 a.m. ESPN 3 has the second Formula 2 ace and at 8:25 a.m. ESPN 2 has Formula 1 sprint qualifying.

• The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series is at the Millville track this week. If one has Peacock they won’t have to do any channel switching.

Things start on www.mavtv.com as at 10 a.m. they show the first 250 moto followed at 11 a.m. with the first 450 moto. Then both mavtv and NBC show the second 250 moto at noon followed at 1 p.m. with the second 450 moto.

At 10 a.m. Fox Sports 1 has Saturday qualifying from the NHRA Mile High Nationals.

Over on NBC Sports at noon they air the Xfinity race from Loudon, New Hampshire. Then at 3:30 p.m. the network broadcasts the IMSA Weathertech Sports Car Championship race from Lime Rock. Finally the day ends at 5 p.m. when mavtv has the 2021 ARCA series race from Berlin Racway in Marne, Michigan.

• Sunday isn’t quite as busy but at 2:50 a.m. ESPN E gets things rolling with the Formula 2 Featured Race. Then at 6:55 a.m. it’s time for the Grand Prix of Britain from the classic Silverstone circuit.

At noon NBC Sports has the NASCAR Cup race from Loudon while over on Fox Sports 1 then have the Sunday qualifying session from the NHRA event.

Finally Fox Sports 1 at 1 p.m. has the final rounds from the NHRA Mile High Nationals in Colorado. This ends the weekend with an explosion of sound and fury as only drag racing can provide.
