RACING PREVIEW: NOVEMBER 26 TO29

RENO, NV (Nov.25) – Yes racing is winding down but everything it taking a slight pause here in America for the Thanksgiving holiday. Still there is some racing to see, both live and on repeat broadcasts.

CAR MEETS:

• Since this is the fifth weekend of the month there are no car meets scheduled for this weekend. However there is an on going event that Reno Cars & Coffee will be part of on December 6th.

Right now Reno Harley Davidson is hosting the 40th Anniversary Reno Toy Run. People are asked to bring in a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at the dealership on normal business hours. That will help the cause and make a child’s Christmas so much better this year.

RACING (REGIONAL & MOTOCROSS):

• Right now, actually for the next few months there will be no races in Northern Nevada. However there are motocross practice sessions going on in Northern California.

• This week MMX has three days of practice starting Friday from noon until dark on the sand and kids track. On Saturday practice is from 9 until 2 p.m. on the main, sand and kids track while times are 9 until 3 p.m. on the vintage, main, sand and kids tracks.

• REP racing also has practice and some ride days scheduled for it’s three tracks.

     + E Street MX Park has practice sessions from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and      Sunday.

     + Prairie City also has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

     + Riverfront is a busy place this weekend with Sierra Old Timers having a ride day from 9 until l2 p.m. Friday. Then Saturday Chad’s Crew has      practice from 9 until 2 p.m.

     Finally Sunday, from 9 until 2 p.m. has practice on the main and vet      tracks. Next week, on December 6th, the track will host the final round of     the 2020 Fall series. On line registration is now up at      www.repracingmx.com.

RACING (NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL):

• While we are truly in the Re-Run Zone there is still some live racing to be seen so get your DVR’s primed to go.

• Thursday is all re runs an www.mavtv.com is carrying the burden. It all starts at 1 p.m. when they show the first motos from Loretta Lynn’s Ranch.

Then at 2 p.m. its Motoamerica Race Day followed at 4 p.m. by the Speed Sport Show. Then at 5 p.m. there is a Lucas Oil Late Model event followed at 7 pm. by Lucas Oil ASCA Knoxville 360 event.

• This week the Formula 1 circus is in Bahrain as the series has its next to last event this year.

• Friday begins at 1:35 a.m. when ESPN.com has Formula 2 practice. Then at 2:30 a.m. ESPN 2 has Formula1 Welcome to the Weekend followed at 2:55 a.m. by Formula 1 practice. A bit later at 6:55 a.m. ESPN News has the second Formula 1 practice.

• Saturday again has an early start at 1:10 a.m. when ESPN3.com has the first Formula 2 race from Bahrain. This series is a stepping stone to getting a seat in Formula 1 for the drivers.

Then at 2:55 a.m. ESPN has Formula1 practice followed at 5:55 a.m. with Formula 1 qualifying.

Mavtv also has a bunch of reruns and www.youtube.com is another place to catch races a person has either missed or wants to see again.

• Sunday gets going early at 2 a.m. when ESPN3.com has the second Formula 2 race of the weekend.

Then at 6:05 a.m. the big show begins as the Formula 1 racers take to the track in Bahrain. Later there are a series or delayed broadcasts of the race starting at 12:30 on ESPN, then at 4:30 on ESPN News and finally at 8 p.m. on  ESPN2.

Not to be forgotten is CBS Sports and that network has a full day of shows and reruns of races.

Things get started at 9:30 a.m. with Mobil 1 The Grid followed at 10 a.m. by Motorsports Mundial.

Then at 11 a.m. there is the GT World Challenge America year in review. After that, starting at noon are a few races from this year’s SCCA runoffs followed at 2 p.m. by the British GT Championship from Silverstone.

At 3 p.m. there is powerboat racing followed at 4 p.m. by the World of Outlaws. All in all it’s a pretty full weekend of racing to view.

That’s it for this weekend folks. As I mentioned we’re diving into the Re-Run Zone for the next few weeks. However the professional teams are no preparing for the 2021 season when the green flags will wave once again.
