FALLON, NV (June 22) – Rattlesnake Raceway hosted its fifth scheduled race of the season. Visiting were the Northern Nevada Winged Sprints as well as the Dwarf Cars. This time the weather cooperated and set the stage for some great racing in this bullring. During the heat races the track dried out so much dust was a problem when the sprint cars were out there. FERNLEY, NV (JUNE 15) – Fernley 95A Speedway hosted the Nevada Pro Stock Association’s opening round as well as the 4th Buehn Hobby Stock Classic. For the Hobby Stocks it was a chance to pocket $1,000 if they could win. The feature race of the night was actually run in two parts. It was the Buehn 4th annual Hobby Stock Classic, which paid the winner $1,000 and second place $500 with the rest of the field getting what the track usually pays. COREY HERRING MEMORIAL AT HONEY LAKE
MILFORD, CA (June19) – The 10th annual Corey Herring Memorial race was held at the Honey Lake Motocross Park this weekend. Each year on Father’s Day weekend this event honors Herring, who was lost in a race and also is a fund-raiser for a scholarship fund that helps young deserving riders. The Honey Lake course, located south of Susanville, Caifonria has both the motocross and cross-country sections. TOP GUN HOSTS NHRA PACIFIC OPEN
FALLON, NV (June 9) – Top Gun Drag Strip, located south of Fallon, hosted the NHRA Pacific National Open this weekend. It was a Division 7 double header of horsepower and fantastic speed as every one from kids to adults got their chance on the strip. The NHRA brought Super Street, Super Comp, Super Gas as well as Super stock/Stock Combo cars to this meet. These were combined with the usual Summit ET classes. SPARKS, NV (June 1) – Norcal Rock Racing Series visited the Wild West Motorsports Park east of Sparks for its second race of the season. Looking forward to a great day of racing 93 drivers were on hand. Mother Nature joined in the fun so the final race Saturday was done in the rain. NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB: ROUND 3
STEAD, NV (June 2): Northern Nevada Kart Club was back in action at Desert Park Raceway. With one exception, a small shower during a heat race, weather was almost perfect for a day of hard racing. The final main in Junior 2 was the race of the day as two youngsters put on a good show of hard and clean racing. When the green waved for the Junior 2 main to begin Tanner Schultz and Brooks Anderline took off and left the rest of the field in their wake. About a lap later Anderline got the lead exiting two.
