RENO, NV (Dec. 19) – Racing Preview is pretty slim right now things are on the horizon. When this was posted there were 59 days before the Daytona 500 even less for other racing.
CARS/CRUISING:
- Nothing for this weekend so we here at NVRacingNews want to extend our season’s greetings to all of our readers, fans and their families.
- RACING (REGIONAL AND COMING ATTRACTIONS.)
• First of all due to the weather the Best in the West Motocross series has been canceled for now but there are plans to have it start in late January. A new schedule will be posted soon.
For those wanting to getting in some throttle therapy before Christmas three tracks in Northern California will be hosting practice sessions.
Prairie City has practice from 1 until 5 p.m. Thursday then from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Over at Riverfront they have a Thursday practice from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday.
E Street MX Park has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
• In coming attractions there are two races slated for New Year’s Day.
The Stockton Dirt Track, for the 4-wheel crowd, has “Racing into the New Year,” featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Bombers and B4 Cylinders. For further information please either call their hot line at 916-370-9417 or check out the track’s website at, www.stocktondirttrack.com.
For the 2-wheel motorcycle crowd MMX Racing is staging the “Hangover Classic” on New Year’s Day. Racing begins at 8 a.m., gates open at 6:30 a.m. and for further information please either call 530-419-5200 or check out their facebook page at, www.facebook.com/mmxracing.
• RACING (TV and Internet):
• Off we go into Rerun land as CBS Sports, at 2 p.m. Thursday has Aus-X Supercross from Australia and New Zealand.
Over on www.mavtv.com they begin at noon with Powri Racing followed by the Super Stock Car Series then Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing, Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Then at 4 p.m the network streams Speed Sport followed at 5 p.m. by Madera Racing.
• As usual Friday is totally rerun land. One source, especially for NASCAR and Indy Car fans is www.youtube.com.
Another is www.fanschoice.tv as they are repeating races from several series. One of them is the American Flat Track motorcycle events.
• Saturday gets going at 9 a.m. over on MAVTV with Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross Championships and is followed by both motos from the Pro Motocross series at Muddy Creek.
After that is Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series then FIM Sidecarcross, a berserk form of racing. Then it’s Lucas Oil ASCS Knoxville Nationals for the 360 sprint cars.
Earlier that day, starting at 10 a.m. CBS Sports has Blancain Sprints followed by the German Touring Car series.
• Sunday begins at noon as CBS Sports has the Prairie Dirt Classic followed by a marathon of World of Outlaws Late Model series then at 5 p.m. the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.
Over on MAVTV they also have a series of events and at 4 p.m. its Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions followed by Short Track American 2018 that has the Blizzard Series Final.
