WESTERN FLAT TRACK VISITS CARSON CITY
CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 25) – The Western Flat Track series made its third appearance at Fuji Park in Carson City this weekend. Like the other two events it was standing room only for the evening show. The rodeo arena is converted into a short track oval for these races. All types of bikes were included and the day was divided into two segments; amateurs in the afternoon then pros for the evening part. DESERT PARK RACEWAY – KPX VISITS NNKC
STEAD, NV (Aug. 18) – Desert Park Raceway hosted the final round of this year’s KPX series. Unlike the other rounds it was a night race and the NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club) was the host club. NNKC President Rodney Rivera was pretty pleased with the turn out. He explained that in the last two visits there had been from 89 to 90 karts but this time there were 115. FERNLEY 95A SPEEDWAY – SEARS WINS EPIC RACE
FERNLEY, NV (Aug. 11) – Fernley 95A Speedway not only hosted the Nevada Pro Stock Association but dedicated the night’s racing to the family of Chris Juhl, who was badly burned in a pit accident at Fallon on July 4th. Track owner Dan Simpson informed everyone at the driver’s meeting that all proceeds from the night would be donated to the family to help with their medical expenses. QUINCY, CALIF. (Aug. 12) – American Valley Speedway’s annual Fair Races are part of the Plumas/Sierra County Fair. The racing ends the fair weekend, which is just before the local schools begin their new year. DESERT PARK RACING – NNKC ROUND 5
STEAD, NV (Aug.5) – Desert Park Raceway was alive with kart racing as the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) staged its fifth race of this season.
