RACING PREVIEW: MAY 31 TO JUNE 3

RENO, NV (May 30) – Racing Preview for this week has several events in our region as well as national and internationally plus events streamed live on the Internet.

Street Vibrations Spring Rally

One of the big events for Reno is the annual Street Vibrations Spring Rally. It’s all downtown and begins Friday and runs through Sunday.

Another Sunday event is the first weekend of the month Reno Cars and Coffee meet, from 10 until 2 p.m. at the Kietzke Starbucks on Sunday. Great way to see the cars, check out some great looking motors and just socialize with local gear heads.

On Saturday American Valley Speedway in Quincy, California celebrates the County Picnic with a full line up as well as the Nevada Pro Stock Association. The action begins at 7 p.m. after hot laps.

Further north in Susanville, California the Diamond Mountain Speedway has another race with a 6:30 p.m. start time.

East of here Winnemucca Regional Speedway has a double header with racing beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday evening then again with a 1 p.m. start time Sunday.

Battle Born MX

Battle Born MX spring series schedule.

Battle Born MX ends its spring series out in Winnemucca. Saturday is for practice while Sunday racing should start around 9 a.m. after morning practice.

Over the hill E Street MX Park has practice session on both tracks from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Riverfront MX has practice Thursday from 5 until 10 p.m. then from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday.

The big race is at Prairie City, which a Loretta Lynn Regional qualifier. Invitations to the summer amateur classic are up for grabs at this event.

On Friday gates open at 6 a.m. with practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Then on Saturday and Sunday gates open at 6 a.m., practice starts at 8 a.m. and racing to follow.

Over in TV Land there are a bunch of programs to watch.

Friday begins at 2 p.m. as NBC Sports presents NASCAR America followed on Fox Sports 1 at 3 p.m. with NASCAR Race Hub. Then at 7 p.m. Fox Sports 2 airs NHRA in 30.

Friday begins at 8:35 a.m. as Fox Sports 2 has NASCAR Cup practice from Pocono followed by Xfinity practice then at 1:15 p.m. qualifying for NASCAR Cup.

Saturday is a full buffet of racing both on the TV as well as streaming on the Internet.

Fox Sports 1 gets things going at 6:35 a.m. with Xfinity qualifying from the Triangle at Pocono followed at 10 a.m. with the race.

IMSA Weathtech Sportscars.

The IMSA Weathertech Sportscar series will be on the street in Detroit this weekend.

Over on Fox Sports 2, starting at 9:30 a.m. the IMCA Weathertech Sportscar race from Detroit begins. At 12:30 p.m. ABC shows the first of two Indy Car races from Detroit.

This week the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series is at Thunder Valley and once again coverage is split between two networks.

MAVTV has the first motos beginning at 11 a.m. while the second motos, starting at 1 p.m. are on NBC Sports.

Finally at 8 p.m. Velocity has this year’s Isle of Mann TT race.

Over on the Internet at www.fanschoice.tv the flat track action begins at 12:30 p.m. with the Indian Motorcycle Red Mile from Lexington, Kentucky. After that, starting at 3:30 p.m. races are streamed from Berlin Speedway, Langley Speedway and Tucson Speedway.

NASCAR Cup

This week those competing in the NASCAR Cup series are at Pocono.

Back in TV Land Sunday’s action begins at 11 a.m. as Fox Sports 1 shows the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup race from Pocono. At 12:30 p.m. ABC has the second Indy Car race from Detroit.

Finally at 2:30 p.m. Fox Sports has the same day-delayed broadcast of the NHRA event from Route 66.
