RENO, NV (May 18) – Today and tomorrow Virginia Street in downtown Reno is the site of the annual Hot August Night’s Sprint Revival. It’s a preview of this year’s festival that celebrates Cars and music.
Teresa’s Garage Radio Show was represented by her 1950’s vintage Chevy. In the front there were free stickers that advertised the radio show.
She kept her car’s motor stock but did paint the valve cover pink.
Many of the cars have been restored like a 1970 VW Bug or a Corvair Corsa. The street was lined with many cars of all types.
There were also a bunch of Chevy Chevelles including a black 1970 SS model. The driver’s window looks like its at a drive in.
Fantastic looking motors are another part of the cars on display and much work has been done on most of them.
The motors also get some love and are on display as are the cars. While many are V-8’s there are others as well.
A very different type of motor was in the back of a 1970 Corvair Corsa. This was the turbocharged version the pumped out a bunch of horsepower and was air cooled.
There are vendors galore selling all types things including event T-shirts and other things anyone working or having one of these vintage cars would need.
The event runs through Saturday so if you have a chance please try and come downtown to savor just a sample of what will be on hand come early August.
And remember Teresa’s Garage Radio Show is aired Tuesday’s from 2 until 3 p.m. The show covers all things automotive. One can find out about the upcoming Women with Wheels car show that had a connection to Hot August Nights and helps a very good cause.
