    RENO, NV (May 30) – Racing Preview for this week has several events in our region as well as national and internationally plus events streamed live on the Internet. One of the big events for Reno is the annual Street Vibrations Spring Rally. It’s all downtown and begins Friday and runs through Sunday. Another Sunday event is the first weekend of the month Reno Cars and Coffee meet, from 10 until 2 p.m. at the Kietzke Starbucks on Sunday.   • OTHG NATIONALS AT FERNLEY

    FALLON, NV (May 27) – The Reno chapter of the Over The Hill Gang (OTHG) hosted the second round of National Motocross Championship. Its two days of racing with a traditional BBQ and party Saturday night. Friday night’s rain help set up the dirt leading into a cool and windy Saturday. On Sunday the temperature warmed up although there was still a breeze. The event consists of two motos daily and a rider’s total score determines their final finishing position in each class.     RENO, NV (May 23) – As we head into the biggest racing weekend of the year Racing Preview has events listed for this region as well as national and international. First of all there are a couple of cancellations to note.   • AMERICAN E-KART CHAMPIONSHIPS AT NEED2SPEED

    RENO, NV (May 22) – Need2Speed, our local indoor electric go kart track is part of the new American E-Kart Championships sponsored by Monster Energy. Local tracks around the country are hosting a series aimed at selecting a local champion, who competes in the finals for a national title.     LOVELOCK, NV (May 20) – Lovelock Speedway hosted the second point’s race of the year for the Nevada Pro Stock Association as well as IMCA Modifieds, the Outlaw Dwarf Cars and Hobby Stocks.     STEAD (MAY 20) – Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) hosted its second point’s race of the season under almost perfect weather. The drivers responded by staging some hard fought races during the day. One of the closest came in the Senior/Master LO206 event that combines both of these classes.     RENO, NV (May 18) – Today and tomorrow Virginia Street in downtown Reno is the site of the annual Hot August Night’s Sprint Revival. It’s a preview of this year’s festival that celebrates Cars and music.     FERNLEY, NV (May 12) – Saturday evening looked like an epic night for Fernley 95A Speedway on Saturday evening. The Sprint Car Challenge Tour was visiting, a large crowd was on hand and Willie Croft set a blistering fast lap of 13.70 seconds during qualifying in his Americoat-Holy Smoke BBQ sprint car.Rounding out the show was a field of 18 IMCA A Modifieds that also had some fast times in the clay track.     FERNLEY, NV (May 13) – Racers competing in the Battle Born MX (BBMX) spring series returned to the Sandbox for the final time. Rain the previous night set the dirt up for some hard racing.   • ENDUROFEST VISITS WILD WEST MOTORSPORTS PARK

    SPARKS, NV (May 6) – Promoter Matt Musgrove brought his Endurofest back to Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. Unlike previous editions this one had a bonus for the rider that scored the most points in four events. Sunday began with a Junior Enduro for the youngest riders and Caleb Bonneville won that event. The event was 45-minutes long with obstacles designed with the younger riders in mind. Bonneville was able to complete 13 laps while second place Chris Newell only had 12 and third place C.J.       QUINCY, CALIF. (May 5, 2018) – This weekend American Valley Speedway in Quincy, Calif. hosted the 5th annual Dave Richardson & Leroy Kay Memorial Race. The event is also the Western States Dwarf Car Association Nationals and it drew around 60 of these little cars. There is racing on Friday but the finals are run Saturday.
