SUPERCRAWL 2017 VISITS WILD WEST
MUSTANG, NV (Sept. 24) – Supercrawl 2017 presented by Maxxis tires and Trail-Gear visited the Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend. What this motorsport event lacks for speed it more than makes up for that in the technical courses and variety of machines used. ENDUROCROSS AT LIVESTOCK EVENTS CENTER
RENO, NV (Sept 23) – EnduroCross visited the Livestock Events Center here for round two of this year’s series. It’s one of the largest venues the series will race in and made for an action packed night. This type of racing is more like motorized Steeple Chase but with more obstacles and no water trap. There were logs to race across plus two rock gardens, as well as a tabletop filled with chopped up wood that would present a different path every time a rider crossed it. NNKC WELCOMES FALL WITH A RACE
STEAD (Sept. 23) – NNKC, the Northern Nevada Kart Club, welcomed fall with the next to last race of the season. Mild weather set the stage for the action at Desert Park Raceway. RENO (Sept. 20) – Racing Preview for this week has an major event in our area plus others and a varied menu on TV and streamed over the Internet. There is something for just about any racing fan. In this area Saturday starts with the latest points race by the Northern Nevada Kart club at their home track, Desert Park Raceway. With only two events left in the season this will be important for those seeking championships or improving their positions. AIR RACES: BATTLE AT THE PYLONS
RENO (Sept. 17) – Air Races came to the skies above the Stead Airport this week. For all concerned it was a challenging week and for some a throw down to see just who was the best in their class. As usual the Unlimited Gold race brings the week long meet to an end and this year the defending champion aircraft was flying in its final race for the current owner Bob Button. RACING RECAP: AIR RACES AND OVAL TRACKS
RENO (Sept. 17) – Racing recap has results from two tracks that ended their season. The main Air Race article will either be out Monday or Tuesday evening. This year’s National Championship Air Races ended on a high note with one of the two close races ending the week. There is a new Unlimited Gold Champion but the race went down to the final two laps. STEAD AIRPORT – Air Race Update has the five fastest qualifiers for this edition of this event. Due to a memory card failure the article was held up a day but now here it is. STEAD AIRPORT (Sept. 12) – Air Race recap today is focused on the Unlimiteds qualifying as well as the other classes. The day it self began with pretty nice weather but that all changed during the afternoon. However between noon and 1 p.m. many of the Unlimiteds qualified. Of course one plane of interest was the modified P-51 Voodoo and now is the fastest piston powered, propeller driven plane in the world. STEAD AIRPORT (Sept. 11) – Air Race, day one, well things were a bit quiet although some were busy qualifying their racing aircraft for the battles to come. Sitting on the ramp testing its engine was Voodoo, now the fastest piston powered, propeller driven aircraft on the planet. Although it didn’t break the record set by Rare Bear it did the fastest pass in its attempt. FALLON, NV (Sept. 9) – Rattlesnake Raceway welcomed area racers and the Nevada Pro Stock Association for a night of hard racing. With only two more points races left in the season it was an important night for the regulars.
