RACING PREVIEW: MAY 4 TO 7

Another great weekend of racing is here.

Once again Racing Preview has something for almost every type of racing fan, from live events to attend to racing on TV and streamed on the Internet.

Dwarf Car Nationals

If the weather doesn’t throw a spanner in the works the Leroy Kay Memorial Race at American Valley Speedway is this Friday and Saturday.

Racing should begins 7 p.m. and on Friday the Dwarfs will race with the IMCA Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks. On Saturday the IMCA Modifieds and Mini Stocks round out the program.

To the east Lovelock Speedway begins its season Saturday at 7:30 p.m. will all its car classes. South of there, during the daytime the Tonopah Speedway will have a play day so everyone can test and tune their cars before that season begins.

For those wishing to get some practice time on a motocross track, well Riverfront is still closed but the E Street MX Park is being reshaped and cleaned up for practice sessions from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For further information call the hotline at, 775-265-7223.

Prairie City will be closed until after the Hangtown opener for the Lucas Oil Outdoor series on May 20.

Locally Reno Motorsports (RMS) is celebrating it 21st anniversary with discounts and a BBQ on Saturday. If you ride or race might be a good time to come by.

Over on TV land Thursday is a bit slim although www.MAVTV.com has a series of reruns. Then at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub followed at 8 p.m. by NBC Sports airing a Global Rallycross event.

Friday begins on Fox Sport 1 at 8:30 a.m. with Xfinity and Cup practice from the Talladega Super Speedway followed at 3 p.m. by ARCA racing on those same high banks. Then at 5 p.m. the network has NHRA qualifying from Atlanta.

Over on the Internet, www.fanschoice.tv has IMSA qualifying from the Circuit of the Americas starting at 10:05 a.m. followed at 4:40 p.m. by a Porsche GT3 Cup race and finally at 5:15 p.m. stream the IMSA Continental Tire Challenge event.

Saturday begins at 5:30 a.m. as first Fox Sports 1 begins showing a FIA World Endurance event from Spa Belgium then half way through the broadcast switches to Fox Sports 2.

Fox, at 10 a.m. airs the Xfinity event from Talladega then at 4 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the IMSA Weather Tech race from Austin. Then the network, at 7 p.m. airs the final round of this year’s AMA Supercross season from Las Vegas, which determines the final championships in the 450 class as well as the 250 East and West titles.

Over on the Internet Fanschoice starts streaming at 9 a.m. with the scone Porsche GT3 race then at 10 a.m. has an X-Factor Pro ATV event from Peru, Indiana and finally ends at 3:30 p.m. with the Cinco De Mayo Fiesta race from Berlin Raceway.

This week NASCAR is at the Talladega Super Speedway.

Fox kicks off Sunday at 11 a.m. with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup event from Talladega. At 1 p.m. CBS Sports had a German Touring Car race from Hockenheim.

Then at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has a delayed broadcast of the NHRA event from Atlanta.

So far Leah Pritchett has won all but one of of the NHRA Top Fuel finals. She goes into Atlanta as the points leader.
