Due to the Easter weekend this Racing Preview is a bit on the thin side although there are some live events to be seen on TV, Internet and locally.
The big race in our area is the Sabio Gonzalez Memorial Race at Rattlesnake Raceway, located just east of downtown Fallon. The event honors long time race supporter and the father of the Gonzalez brothers.
Outlaw Karts will be part of the show and the cars are supposed to take to the track at 6 p.m. headlining the show is the Nevada Pro Stock Association.
Those motocross riders wanting some more throttle time over the hill, well it’s going to be on a day-to-day basis.
Prairie City will have practice from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, Saturday is used for a SOT Trail ride then practice resumes Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
On Saturday E Street MX Park is reserved for an OTHG ride then there will be open practice from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday.
However due to incoming weather it is suggested a rider wanting practice should call the hot line that morning before leaving. The hot line is 1-775-265-7223.
With the U.S. major series taking the Easter weekend off there are other races to watch as well as a couple of international events on tap.
On Thursday NASCAR American will be airs at 2:30 p.m. on NBC Sports while NASCAR Race Hub starts at 3 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
MAVTV is in the “Rerun Zone,” and has a series of programs starting at noon with the Dirty 30 show followed by Super Cup Stock Car Series, Lucas Oil Drag Boats and Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League.
Friday is pretty well empty although MAVTV has some shows as does Fans Choice dot TV.
MAVTV at 2 p.m. Saturday has AMA Pro Flat Track racing from the Arizona Mile.
Over on www.fanschoice.tv Saturday there are several short track races being streamed. The first three listed, while all having the same starting time, are probably shown in different regions.
First up at 3 p.m. on Fans Choice is a race from Langley Speedway, Myrtle Beach and Everygreen Speedway. Then at 4 p.m. the network airs a race from Salina Highbanks Speedway followed at 5:30 p.m. by an event from Magic Valley Speedway.
Sunday starts early at 4 a.m. as Fox Sports 1 airs the first part of the FIA World Endurance event from Silverstone, England. The second part begins at 6 a.m. but on Fox Sports 2.
This week the Formula One Circus is in Bahrain and the live broadcast starts at 7:30 a.m. on CNBC then is repeated on NBC Sports at 7:30 p.m.
MAVTV also has a bunch of events starting at 10 a.m. with the FIA World Rally Championship followed by Lucas Oil ASCA, Lucas Oil Drag Boats, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and finally Best in the Desert Pahrump 250.
Not to be left out CBS Sports, starting at noon Sunday, has two international motocross events with the first being FIM MX followed by FIM MXGP. And finally at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has Monster jam from Las Vegas.
Please remember all times listed are for Pacific Daylight time.
That does it for this week’s Racing Preview and I’d encourage one to get out and see the live event in Fallon. While TV might be good there is nothing like the experience and excitement of seeing a live race.
Finally we hear at www.nvracingnews.com would like to extend to all of our readers and their families our best wishes for a Happy Easter.
