This week we have the not so good, very good, wild and things in the “Rerun Zone.”
Racing Preview for this week has some bad news for area motocross riders, at least for now. And it has three major events that can be watched either on TV or streamed over the Internet.
Over the hill the recent storms have slammed the motocross tracks in Northern California. The third round of the Triple Crown series that was supposed to run at the Oakfield track has been postponed for now.
Promoter Zeb Armstrong on Tuesday posted photos from his two tracks, Riverfront MX Park and E-Street MX.
Being right beside the river in Marysville, California has meant both are flooded again and much worse than a couple of weeks ago. So any practice sessions are probably out of the question but for any current information those interested should call the hotline at, 775-265-7223.
South of us, the Pahrump Valley Speedway is hosting the King of the Oval races on Saturday, weather permitting of course. On tap will be the Dwarf Cars as well as the Modlites.
To the west of there in Johnson Valley, California the King of the Hammers is going with the Smitty Bilt Everyman Challenge beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday. The event can be watched live at www.ultra4racing.com, once there click the live section.
Over on the TV there is some live racing and a bunch of reruns of events from last year.
On Thursday MAVTV, starting at noon, has Indiana Sprint Car Summer Series followed by Super Cup Stock Car Series, Geneva Supercross and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Car Series.
The big race for the Nitto King of the Hammers championship, the 4400 class, starts Friday at 8 a.m. and again will be streamed live.
That same day further west, and weather permitting, the NHRA begins its season at Pomona with the annual Winter Nationals. On Thursday Fox Sports 1 at 3 p.m. has a delayed showing of qualifying.
Saturday begins at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports 1 as they have live coverage of more qualifying from the NHRA Winter Nationals.
Then at 7 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the next round of the Supercross series, this time from Arlington, Texas.
Fox Sports 1 kicks off Sunday with a delayed broadcast of NHRA qualifying followed at 1 p.m. as they broadcast the final elimination rounds of the Winter Nationals.
MAVTV is also on Sunday with reruns of many events from last year. Starting at noon they have Lucas Oil Drag Boats then a Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League event followed by Lucas Oil Off Road Series event.
That’s it for now but remember Daytona Speedweeks begins next week as we head for the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. Have a good weekend everyone.
