    National Championship Air Races: Unlimited Czech Mate.

    Well here we go, Air Race week has begun and things get serious tomorrow. STEAD (Sept. 11)— Air Race Update for Sunday will be a bit short. Planes are here, tech inspections going on, seems a T-6 was disqualified for some kind of problem. However Czech Mate made it after a stop in Fresno for repair to its prop. Voodoo came in on Saturday as did most of the remaining aircraft. The F-1 and Biplane hanger is full and the sport class is filling two other hangers.     Now that Labor Day has come and passed things are starting to wind down for some racers and winding up for others. Racing Preview for this week shows that fall is in the air and things are changing locally, nationally and internationally. Livfast Exit 28, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., hosts its final Saturday and Sunday practice sessions before the fall motocross season begins at the track.     The last desert race for four wheeled vehicles ran this Saturday. A great car count and TV exposure is sure to boost this race and series. SALT WELLS (Aug. 3) – The Carbon Off Road Fallon 250 is two races in one; it closes out the desert racing series for VORRA and is also an Ultra 4 regional. And this year there was a name change as the race now has a title sponsor; Carbon Off Road.
