Desert motorcycle racers came together to race in the second event of the new season. When MRANN set up shop at Blue Water Flat, located northwest of Toulon, the lakebed was dry. Last year it rained so the area was unusable but this time Mother Nature provided almost perfect weather. After taking the winning the overall race Levi Hutchings said, “The course was awesome, I had a blast. The single track was just fantastic, the washes were good, just enough road to take a break, I felt great. Didn’t have a single problem out there and I’m just going to

THE RACING BUEHNS
Racing is a family sport, one where usually sons, daughters and the rest follow in their elder’s tire tracks. But there are some exceptions to this. The racing Buehns are one of the very few husband wife teams where both compete on oval tracks. In this area the Natenstedts are the only other duo like this. But Dennis and Tami Buehn not only race Hobby Stocks but he’s a six-time T-6 Gold champion at the Reno Air Races. His involvement in air racing goes back into the late 1960’s when he got involved with Ed Weiner, who was racing

RENO MOTORSPORTS
We here at www.nvracingnews.com wish welcome our first advertiser to this site. Reno Motorsports or RMS, is well known to the motorcycle riding, off-road and motocross community here in Northern Nevada. The shop was started by two friends, Dennis “The Desert Fox,’ Belingheri and Paul “Ziggy,” Ziegler after they moved up here from Southern Nevada. Ziggy explained they both had experience working in motorcycle shops and once here decided to open RMS rather than buy houses. After starting the shop in 1996 they saw a need to help expand off-road racing in this area and in 1998 started MRANN, Motorcycle

MRANN AT NIGHTINGALE
Another season begins with the Desert Fox schooling his younger competitors NIGHTINGALE (Feb. 14.) – As is traditional, MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) began its season on President’s Day weekend. Any rider wanting to be considered a finisher had to complete one loop. For one veteran it was a day of triumph and some redemption as well as

A little tighter focus on racing for this region as we get closer to spring. (RENO, Feb. 1) It’s Oval Track preview time this week. We are blessed with seven of these tracks in our region.
