Season’s greetings from all of us to our readers.
This week is a bit of a departure from the norm with this site. After going hard at it for almost 18 months thought I’d step back for this week.
Over the past months my partner and I have worked at getting the site up, running and keeping it up to date. Not an easy task I can assure you but the feedback has been positive and that alone is gratifying.
This year I’ve seen a series and a club reborn due to the efforts of racers and concerned individuals. And the result of this hard work has been increased energy in two motorcycle racing series.
On the oval track front there has been some great, hard racing and the tracks are working to improving their facilities so fans can have a more enjoyable time.
And next year a track that has been dark for years will come alive again.
The local go-kart club has strengthened and staged some great racing this past year. And the fastest shifter class, that almost disappeared, is getting bigger and bigger every season.
And drag racers still have a place to race south of Fallon.
North of Reno, the Air Races are still going although the event is now looking for a major sponsor as they just lost the one that has been there for several years. Despite this two of the classes are growing and one of them now has races overseas.
The off road season was a good one and Wild West Motorsports Park even welcomed a new event this fall.
All in all it’s been a positive year for area racing and the promise of a great new year is almost here.
But this week step back, take some time to count your blessings, take a deep breath and get ready for a new season.
If it seems like a long time, just remember seven Sundays from now the Daytona 500 will be run and on the third Saturday from now it’s the start of the 2016 Supercross season. The new year is just about to get its usual roaring start.
Next Monday we’ll recap the season.
So no matter if you say, “Merry Christmas,” or “Happy Kawanza,” or “Happy Chanukah,” we at Nvracingnews offer our season’s best wishes to all of you.
And below is a photo gallery of decorated cars and bikes.
