    Tech One Designs in Minden, Nevada makes graphics and apparel for racers, both amateur and professionals. Sometimes finding the right business takes a while and sometimes it’s something a person was trained to do in the first place.     Racing preview for this weekend is a bit thin but there is still things that will keep a race fan entertained. Locally the only action will be at Livfast Exit 28. They might have a practice session on Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for those that want to either work off their turkey or gear up their appetite.     Rattlesnake Raceway has several young champions and here are two of them. FALLON (Nov. 23) – Racing champions, especially those that compete on short tracks, are a varied group. They come from all types of occupations and age groups. This year, among its champions Rattlesnake Raceway had two that are in high school and compete in very different types of racing. On the oval this year’s track champion is high school senior Zack Cail, who now races in the IMCA Modified division.   • RACING PREVIEW: NOV. 19 – 22

    NASCAR - Kyle Busch is ranked #3 in the final four.

    Racing preview for this weekend still has some action for fans as well as some two-wheeled racing. While racing locally is over for the year there is still some action. Motocross riders wanting to keep their skills sharp can practice, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Livfast Exit 28. The track is located east of Sparks on I-80 and is the next exit after the one at Mustang. This is NASCAR’s final weekend for this year and three championships will be decided at Homestead, Flordia this weekend. Thursday has several programs and at 4 p.m. NBC

  • NNKC AWARDS BANQUET

        NNKC awards banquet is an annual gathering where the club ends its season and begins to look forward to the new season. RENO (Nov. 14) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) gathered together to honor its champions, trophy winners and special people that helped this past season. The location was the Grand Sierra Hotel and Casino for this festive occasion. The highest honor the club awards is Karter of the Year and the winner gets to keep the trophy for a year.     RENO (Nov. 12) — Although racing in our region has ended for the year there is still some action. For those motocross riders that want to sharpen their skills or just stay sharp, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday there are practice sessions at the Livfast Exit 28 track. In Southern Nevada the annual Duel in the Desert is underway. Qualifying and preliminary mains begin this afternoon in a three day show that leads up to Saturday night’s 40-lap IMCA Modified main.     TWO TRACKS HONORED THEIR CHAMPIONS AND OTHER DRIVERS IN SEPARATE CEREMONIES. FERNLEY (Oct. 7) – Two tracks held their award banquets this weeend; one during the daytime and one during the evening. It was a time to honor their class champions and other drivers that raced this past season. The fun began at Fernley 95A Speedway when the track hosted a small gokart track for some fun racing. Many drivers, both young and older, enjoyed themselves.     Racing preview for this week still has a varied menue of live and delayed events including the final race in our region that brings racing in Northwest Nevada to a close. The curtain comes down on racing in our region this weekend. The final race in this fall’s Motocross Series will be held in Winnemucca. Practice runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday then at 9 a.m. Sunday the first motos are scheduled to begin.   • MILLER HAS A TRIPLE CROWN SEASON

    Miller did something almost unheard of in short track racing as he won three championships in a single season. FERNLEY – For most drivers winning one championship in a career is a huge accomplishment. To win three in one season is a dream come true. IMCA Modified driver Robert Miller just accomplished this feat as this season has been a triple-crown year.
