  • FALLON 250 – DESERT DOUBLE HEADER

      Fallon 250 was very different as two series combined forces to stage a day into night desert racing event. SALT WELLS (Aug. 29) – This year’s Fallon 250, the last desert race on VORRA’s (Valley Off Road Racing Association) calendar, was a bit different. This time the event was a western regional for Ultra4 series and drivers could use it to qualify for their nationals in October. As a result, 50 Unlimiteds showed up plus around 70 for VORRA.   • RACING PREVIEW – AUGUST 27-30

    Racing preview for this weekend is again a menu of varied motosport events both in our region, on TV and the Internet. This weekend Fallon is the site of two very different events. The biggest is probably the VORRA/Ultra 4 Regional race known as the Fallon 250 and the pit area is east of Fallon around Salt Wells. Registration is on Friday, at Stockman’s Casino from 1 to 5 p.m. and competitors can inspect the course but at their own risk. Then at 6 a.m. Saturday production classes, 9, 11 and Full Metal start with a time limit of 9-hours.

    Lucas Oil Off Road races got pretty crazy during the second day of the series visit to Northern Nevada.     Lucas Oil Off Road Series - Bryce Menzies wins the Pro 2 race.

        Lucas Oil Off Road series visited Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend for a two day show at a circuit that’s a fan and driver favorite. Mustang (Aug. 22) – Lucas Oil Off Road Series is always a crowd favorite as the fans got a show of speed, color, sound and some mayhem. Highlighting the show were the Pro 2 trucks with Rob MacCachren and Bryce Menzies only being 28 points behind with six rounds left in the season.     Myan Spaccarelli has his dream about being a full time race driver come true. And he’ll drive the big Tonka Toy at this weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road event. Its great when a person’s dream comes true and Spaccarelli is living his dream.   • MACCACHREN READY FOR WILD WEST

    Going into this weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Series race at Wild West Motorsports Part, Rob MacCachren leads the Pro 2 points. With only two events left after this weekend, its critical for drivers to earn every point they can. To MacCachren, who drives the Rockstar Energy entry, this race is important as he’s only 28 markers ahead of Bryce Menzies.     Wild West Motorsports Park hosts the Lucas Oil Off Road Series this weekend.

     Racing preview for this weekend has something for almost any racing fan. Including a special event that will only happen once this year in our area.     95A Speedway has another night of hard racing as points are becoming very important plus one race that has an extra bonus for the winner.   This week’s races at the 95A Speedway have many incentives for drivers as one was trying to score his first victory of the year, after a winning season last year.     Racing preview for this week includes regional action as well as what will be on TV and the Internet.     Double points always insure there will be plenty of action during the races. And the Hobby Stock division proved that saying correct. FALLON (July 8) – Double points were on the line at Rattlesnake Raceway this weekend and a large field of Hobby Stocks were on hand to race for those points. The IMCA field was small due to a two-day race south in Tonopah.      Barrett-Jackson Auctions has one team handling the cars and they help the show roll along. RENO (July 7) – Barrett-Jackson Auctions requires a team of workers to make the show happen.     Exit 28 Ride Day to help a family

    The Racing Preview this week has local motocross riders riding to help a local family with medical costs. Racing preview this week begins with a charity event put on by Livfast Exit 28 motocross track. Local racer Tyler Moore has an infant nephew that has already gone through one heart operation.   And the baby needs another one so Saturday’s ride day will be a fundraiser for the family.
