    NNKC Beats the heat for a day of hot racing.   Stead (June 28) – A forecast of a high temperatures didn’t deter the hardcore members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club. They showed up anyway and, thanks to the cloud cover, had a pretty nice day of racing. The Senior Clone main was one of the great races of the day.          THIS WEEK’S RACING PREVIEW ISN’T AS FRANTIC AS THE LAST ONE. Although there is less racing going on in our region this weekend there are still some things for fans so see and attend. Rattlesnake Raceway, east of downtown Fallon, has another points race Saturday for the cars but this time there will be Mud Drags to round out the program.     HERRING MEMORIAL HONORS FALLEN RIDER AND ENDS SPRING SEASON FOR MRANN. FERNLEY (June 21) – The Herring Memorial race on Father’s Day weekend honors a young rider that was lost seven years ago. This time, the sixth anniversary race, was staged at the Sandbox, or the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Park using all the available track, so one loop was between two and three miles.     American Valley Speedway hosts a wild night of racing. QUINCY (June 20) – The American Valley Speedway was in action with a good field of IMCA Modifieds as well as Hobby Stocks.     PRS Flies into Stead to train rookies and give veterans practice time. STEAD (June 18) – This week the annual Pylon Racing Seminar flew into the airport here.     This week’s racing has a mix of two- and four-wheel action in our region. The Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track will be in action as MRANN ends its spring desert-racing season. It’s the annual Corey Herring Memorial race but this time in a short track configuration.   On Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. the big bikes can practice then at 10:30 a.m. the Pee Wee riders take center stage.     Octane Fest brings color and speed to Fallon. The Octane Fest rolls into Fallon this weekend for three days and evenings of action packed motorsports. In addition two regional tracks will also be staging their own races.     Hot racing at Desert Park matched the temperature on Sunday. STEAD (June 7) – Hot racing on a hot day at Desert Park Raceway this Sunday as NNKC staged its latest round of the season.     What’s racing this weekend is packed days of motorsport action that has something for almost anybody. If the weather holds local race fans are in for a treat.
