RENO, NV (Aug. 27) — We end August with another flurry of car meets with some racing thrown in. Will be cooler with the possibility of rain Thursday night and Friday and Sunday is a slow day. CAR MEETS: •• Thursday is when things get started around 8 a.m. at Kim’s Donut and Tea House. RENO, NV (Aug. 24) — This past weekend was a car meet blizzard. While five are in this report there were several more outside of Reno. • Saturday began with the second Cars and Stripes show by the Sportsman’s Warehouse. Several groups including the Iron Mafia, Nevada Car Coalition and Honor Flight hosted the event to benefit local American Veterans. One of the tents was for Jim4 Heroes and Honor Flight. RENO, NV (AUG. 16) — Been a busy weekend. Saturday started with a fundraiser and finished with one car meet. Sunday was full with three meets so it kept everyone busy. •• Reno Harley Davidson was a busy place in the early Saturday afternoon. The dealership was the site for the Downrider Fundraiser put on by the Confederation of Clubs, which includes many motorcycle clubs. There were things to buy, a raffle, games for the kids as well as food to buy. The Henchman Motorcycle Clubs was the organizer. When asked about the function Joe Orozcl said, “I’m the one

RENO, NV (Aug. 9) — This weekend signaled the end of Hot August Nights as well as related event at the Grand Sierra Resort. There were also a couple of car meets. • On Saturday Auto Motion had a meet at its location on Telegraph Street. Due to the heart and Hot August Nights the turn out, as expected, was low. Still there were some cars parked so others could see check them out. • The Grand Sierra Resort had its own event from Wednesday through Saturday evening. RENO, NV (Aug.2) — Biggest car event of the year started this weekend. Hot August Nights celebrates its 40th anniversary highlighting classic cars. • This time the Hot August Drag races started on Friday. The very short strip is on the west side of the Sparks Nugget. While most cars competed in drag racing there was one burn out early in Saturday’s program. After doing that the driver had to deal with a motor problem. One drag race had two enhanced classic racing each other. One started its life as a Rambler station while the other was a 1950’s sedan.

RENO, NV (July 25) — This weekend’s summer weather set the stage for several car meets. Sadly this report only covers four of them. • Need2Speed had another of its Kars & Karts meets at the Northtowne shopping area.  The heat of the day probably kept the turn out a bit lighter than normal but there were plenty of cars to see. RENO, NV (July 19) — It was a summer weekend and Sunday had two car meets. One even had some special additions. • Reno Cars & Coffee had its second meet of the month starting at 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Despite the heat there was a pretty good turn out with a few groups of Corvettes. Several models were there for spectators to see. Over in one row was a black Ferrari that has some history behind it. Owner Tony Mitchell brought it to the meet. Asked about the car he said, “It’s a 1984 Ferrari 400I with a 4-speed
