  • AMATEUR DAY AT ARENACROSS

    RENO, NV (Nov. 17) — After the pros raced for two nights the course was altered and the Amateurs to got their turn. As usual there are many classes and they ran a set of heats then mains. REPORTER’S NOTE: While I’m including all the classes due to an accident was only able to stay for the heat races. As a result wasn’t able to stay for the mains but I’ve got as many pictures of the eventual winners as I could. Starting the show is the Stacyc Class, they race small eBikes and two Northern Nevada rider scored victories.

  • ARENACROSS VISITS RENO LEC

    RENO, NV (Nov. 15) — The Reno/Sparks Livestock Events Center was busy place this weekend. That’s where the 2024/2025 AMA Arenacross season began. Friday and Saturday were for the Pros while Sunday the amateurs had their turn on a modified track. • Day two of the Arenacross was Saturday with the same schedule as Friday. After the two LCQ races for the pros, it was time for the Micro Open Limited race with the 4 to 8-year-old riders. When the gate dropped Ashton Etzen took off with Tallan Smith giving chase.     RENO, NV (Nov. 13) — As a storm heads out way there is still one more racing event in our area but this one is indoors. There are also other races to go before several seasons end.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY AWARDS BANQUET

    FALLON, NEVADA (November 9, 2024): Rattlesnake Raceway held it’s annual Awards Banquet at the Fallon Eagles Hall located west of town on the Reno Highway. Its always a festive occasion that begins with a buffet meal and one table builds a pyramid of beer cans. Of course everyone was there to see the trophies and champion jackets be handed out.     RENO, NV (Nov. 6) — As the days are getting shorter racing is ending and on TV we’ll soon be in the Rerun Zone.     RENO, NV (Nov. 3) — Light weekend due to no racing in this region but there were some meets on both days. The cool weather helped to keep the turnouts a bit on the low side but still there were enough that showed up. • Sunday began with Reno Jeeps and Coffee meeting by the Human Bean Coffee stand at the corner of Longley Lane and South McCarran.     RENO, NV (Oct. 27) — Been a busy weekend as we celebrated Nevada Day, there were several Trunk or Treat events plus a Cars & Coffee meet on Sunday. • Friday started when the Off Road Warehouse, on Victorian Avenue in Sparks, scheduled a get together.     RENO, NV (Oct. 20) — It was a mixed bag this weekend with a car show for a benefit then two meets to show off cars. Sunday afternoon at the Automobile Museum there was a planning meeting setting the stage to bringing back an popular event next year. • Saturday started with Binders for Boobies, a car show to benefit Pinocchio’s Moms on the Reno.   • QUINCY SPEEDWAY ENDS 2024 SEASON

    QUINCY, CA (Oct. 13) — A gray misty evening set the stage for the season ending event at Quincy Speedway. The program was held up due to a passing light rains. After wheel packing there were hot laps and heat races. Starting the racing program were the IMCA Stock Cars. When the green waved Chris Lewis took off while Craig Nieman and Jeff Olschowka were chasing. Up front Lewis slowly extended his lead while behind him there was a nose-to-tail duel for second between Nieman and Olschowka.   • EXTRA, EXTRA – TYING UP LOOSE ENDS

    RENO, NV (Oct. 8) — After posting the Dirt Track Championship report I realized there were a few loose ends that I wanted to tie up. Have to thank Mark Hain and Brett Wilkins for their help. This past year the IMCA classes, in addition to racing at individual tracks were part of the NAPA “ Know How 2 Get ‘er Done” series.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY HOSTS DIRT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

    FALLON, NV (Oct. 5) — For the 38th time Rattlesnake Raceway ended its season with the Dirt Track Championships. While it is a two-day affair there is a big difference. A driver’s combined finishes are used to determine how they placed in the DTC. The driver that has the best record gets the trophy, is named their class Dirt Track Champion and has a year’s worth of bragging rights.
