The seasons are beginning to get started as this weekly preview will show you where you can watch the action.
While local racing is just beginning to heat up for the season there is one major racing organization about to start its season with a huge blast. This week NASCAR gets the year rolling as all three of its top divisions take to the high banks of Daytona International Speedway.
But first, on the local scene, Livfast Exit 28 will be holding practice sessions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at their motocross track.
The next local race is over a week away and that’s when MRANN takes to the desert again.
On TV things begin with a bang on Thursday.
After Sunday’s qualifying Chase Elliott captured the poll at the Daytona 500 while Matt Kenseth will start right beside him.
However everyone else will race Thursday in the CanAm Duel 150s to determine their starting spots. And a few drivers either race their way into the field or go home.
Fox Sports 1 will broadcast both Duel races with the first beginning around 4 p.m. while the second should start around 6 p.m.
Sprint Cup champion Kyle Busch will be in the second Duel along with his brother Kurt. They start second and fifth in the field.
On Friday, starting at 4:30 p.m. Fox Sports 1 airs the Camping World Truck race from Daytona. Then on Saturday, starting at 12:30 p.m. the network broadcasts the Infinity race at the same track.
Around 4:30 or 5 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the latest round of the Supercross series from Texas. Can Ryan Dungey keep his KTM in the winner’s circle and will Joey Savatgy score another victory in the 250 West series, we’ll know after the checkered flag waves.
The Daytona 500 is on Fox this Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. so those without cable or satellite service can see it over the air.
On the Internet, www.fanschoice.tv is hosting the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car racing from the New Smyrna Speedway, starting at 4:30 p.m. from now through Saturday.
That’s it for this week. As we head into March both local and major-league racing begin in earnest and we’ll preview the dates right here.
